Shy Sapp is a Nehiyaw actor, comedian, writer, and emerging film maker from Little Pine First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory.
She is best known for her role on the hit CTV sitcom Acting Good, nominated for Best Comedic Ensemble at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards. Her stand-up comedy has taken her across Canada, the U.S., and Aotearoa (New Zealand), where she headlined the Indig-E Girl Comedy Showcase and performed at the Saskatoon, Vancouver, and Wellington Fringe Festivals. Shy was also featured in the 2025 Winnipeg Comedy Festival “Maybe It’s Me” Mega Show and “Bannock Bums” show.
Her theatre credits include Sir John A: Acts of a Gentrified Ojibwe Rebellion, Mary of Patuanak, and Baba and the Gift of the Kokum Scarf, which she also co-wrote. As a playwright, she has developed original work through Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre’s New Voices Program and 25th Street Theatre, with a new production scheduled for 2026.
Currently, Shy is writing and directing He Perceives It: The Allen Sapp Story, a documentary about her grandfather, the renowned Cree painter Dr. Allen Sapp, told from an intimate family perspective.
